Work Programs
The Foundation identifies areas where the Pro Bono contribution is required, and develops specific work programs for each of them, in order to channel the volunteer legal service of attorneys.
Work programs developed by the Foundation are the following:
Pro Bono contribution is materialized through individual advice, training, litigation in emblematic cases of public interest, law reports and the participation of attorneys in public policy discussions.
- NGOs: Legal advice to NGOs, regarding the obtaining of legal capacity, modification of by-laws, updating of powers of attorney and resolution of labor, tax, penal and commercial inquiries, among others.
- MICRO-ENTREPRENEURS: Legal advice to micro-entrepreneurs in labor, tax and commercial matters. The program also considers training workshops, the elaboration of supporting materials, and the participation of Pro Bono attorneys in the discussion of public policies promoting the sector.
- PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: Defense of the rights of people with disabilities in emblematic cases of discrimination, accessibility, and in other scopes promoting the full social integration of this sector.
- DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Legal advice to women and children victims of domestic violence. The program also contemplates legal advice in other family law related matters, such as custody and alimony rights.
- TRANSPARENCY AND ACCESS TO PUBLIC INFORMATION: Program aimed at the promotion of transparency through public debate and Pro Bono practice in cases of access to public information.
- SUPPORT TO VICTIMS OF VIOLENT CRIMES: Pro Bono criminal legal advice to victims of violent crimes of limited resources requiring professional advice for a proper protection and representation.
- PRO BONO ARBITRATION: Pro Bono assistance to persons of limited resources that have to resort to arbitral justice in mandatory arbitration matters.
- ADULTS: Contribute to their access to justice through the dissemination of the rights and Pro Bono legal advice to the persons forming part of this segment.
